Erb Pyre - Veteran, “Hey friend. Don’t point your camera over there. You crazy? That’s king Mudd. He don’t take too kindly to being filmed. Kind of the whole point of the mud. Me? No, I’m just out for a little midnight stroll through the neighborhood. Checkin’ out the nightlife and whathaveyou. You know, I’m old enough to remember this spot before this factory was here. On a clear night, you could look right through that brush and see the moon. Maybe we’ll have that view again someday.”

Vex Shadow - Apprentice Dungfinder

“My dad runs a dungfinder co-op and I’m his apprentice. A true cottage industry family business, for whatever that’s worth. he says it’s too dangerous out there with all those finders going missing, so I haven’t been getting very many hours in lately. I don’t even know if there will be any work in dungfinding anymore with Murdock’s machines automating everything. I’ve put a couple of years into becoming a dungfinder, but I’m thinking of switching things up. Maybe I’ll go into hive repair or personal security or something. I don’t know.”

Page 79

Titch Soot - Witch at Hexicon

“There’s energy in death. Most of the time it’s a weak neutral energy… everything dies and most deaths are insipid. Some people’s ends are heroic and there is a light energy there. But these are dark times with dark deaths. If you’ll excuse me, there a bit of delicate timing to these things.”

Page 78

Glub Treeclinger - Magistrate of Oak’s Shadow

Crowd, “What are we supposed to do, just starve to death? This has been our way of life since anyone can remember.

Magistrate, “Progress can be disruptive.”

Crowd, “Slightly disrupting Murdock’s runaway profits is worth killing my child? Just enforce the laws!”

Magistrate, “The machine breaking will stop or the government will STOP THE MACHINE BREAKERS.”

Page 77

Vert Stoneman: owner of Rhapsody in Poo, “Listen, I don't wanna sound like a jerk or whatever, but I gotta look after number one here. Murdock is a scumbag, but he beats those other guys on price by a lot. Besides, I ain’t some housewife buying a little dung here or there for the rugrats. I'm in manufacturing. I buy a lot of dung and I make a lot of products out of that dung. If Murdock gets me a discount, so much the better for everyone that buys from me. I figured all trickles down or whatever. If a few people go out of business because they can't compete, eh…”

Page 76

Coxa Blight: lead guitarist of Rot ‘n Ruin, “Big Dung wants us to think that they're the experts. That like they invented dung or something. We all have generations of genetic memory finding dung. Our ancestors didn't have companies or machines… Join King Mudd and tear it all to the ground. Break the machines, break the factories, break the bosses, break the owners. Break it all and we'll do it ourselves!”

Page 75

Murdock, “It is an unfortunate reality that people get hurt and displaced because of progress. If you could help tens of thousands of people live a better life with a constant flow of low cost dung, what is that worth?”

Magistrate, “Like, how much money?”

Murdock, “No, not money. People. Acceptable losses. Some people are going to starve, this is disruptive progress. These are the sacrifices we’re making for a better future.”

Turn Off to Activate - Unisex t-shirt

from $24.95

We don’t have any sanctuary for our thoughts.

We’re constantly bombarded by distraction and entertainment. This is called “programmed time,” and it’s when you’re being programmed by something. TV scheduling is even called programming. Very skilled people can use music cues, visuals, dialog, acting, and story to decide how their audience will feel while watching a movie. This is great. I love movies, TV and other media, but if 100% of your waking time is spent being entertained or distracted, then when do you have an opportunity to have your own thoughts and feelings?

Turn off to activate is a reminder to schedule in some unprogrammed time into your day. To read, listen, or watch more about this, check out https://corykerr.substack.com/p/turn-off-to-activate

Resist Programming - Unisex t-shirt

from $24.95

Resist Programming is about being aware of the inherent biases of the communication we consume. For example, very few of us are aware of how much time we are actually on social media or how many times a day the apps on our phones draw us back in with notifications. We are the dog in Pavlov’s experiment and we instinctively react to every bell, buzz and boing without thinking. I recommend turning your notifications off so that you choose to engage with your apps rather than your apps choosing to engage you.

First Amendment - Unisex t-shirt

from $24.95

Arguably, one of the coolest amendments. Free speech, freedom of the press, freedom to protest and assemble, and freedom of religion. The first amendment protects protestors, writers, artists, journalists, and ensures that there are no state religions.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Please Read Things ... Unisex t-shirt

from $24.95

Please read things, we're getting dumber. It is a real possibility that we reach a critical mass of stupidity and can't sustain a functioning society. Anyway, this illustration is about reading and the very real possibility of a societal collapse due to the loss of general intelligence as we become uninterested in more difficult types of thinking.

Numbing Distraction - Unisex t-shirt

from $24.95

This one is about the distracting things we feel drawn to do instead of the deeply human and important things we should do to live a fulfilling life. Numbing behavior is any activity that we engage in to avoid doing the things we feel called to do. It isn’t the behavior itself, but the motivation behind the behavior that’s the problem.

Don't Trust Scorpions - Unisex t-shirt

Here is my rendition of the Scorpion and the Frog. I think it's applicable to a lot of situations like voting for politicians that hate you, victims trusting abusers, or people helping tech billionaires build things that are detrimental to society (like twitter, tiktok, and instagram for example)...

If you want to listen to, watch, or read my thoughts on how this applies to artificial intelligence, check out this link: https://corykerr.substack.com/p/ai-art-destroying-ourselves-the-frog
